BEL Prepares for Hurricane Season

The 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially begin in less than two weeks and disaster risk agencies and response teams have begun preparations. Experts are saying the Gulf of Mexico is already warmer than average. Even more worrying is a current of warm tropical water that is looping unusually far into the Gulf for this time of year, with the power to turn tropical storms into monster hurricanes. Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) continues to prepare for the hurricane season. Senior Corporate Communications Officer Sheena Garnet told Love News that residents can feel assured that the company will do all it can to ensure that the power supply remains uninterrupted.

Love News also spoke to the Manager of Distribution of Operation for BEL, Ashton Webster who explained that there is a comprehensive plan to ensure that there is a reliable supply of energy to consumers.
