A mid-morning blaze in Belama Phase 5 has left one man without a home and his partner in police custody.  Around 11 o’clock yesterday morning, police and fire personnel responded to reports of a house fire in the Belama area. When officers arrived, they found the charred remains of a wooden structure measuring about ten by sixteen feet.  The home belonged to 26-year-old labourer Kent Flores, who told investigators he had gone out on an errand and returned to find his house destroyed, but what happened next turned the fire report into a criminal investigation. Police say Flores’ wife, 23-year-old Andesha Myers, admitted to setting the fire herself. The estimated loss has been estimated at five thousand dollars. The home was not insured.  Scene of Crimes personnel processed the site, and Myers was detained pending further investigation.
