Belize and Cuba sign onto a Cooperative Health Agreement

Belize and Cuba have signed onto a Cooperative Health Agreement. (CUBA AND BELIZE VO) A short ceremony was held yesterday in Belmopan and saw representation from the Minister of Health, Pablo Marin, and Ambassador of Cuba to Belize, Lissette Pérez Pérez. According to a release from the Government, the signing is a testimony of the 25-year longstanding health relationship between Belize and the Republic of Cuba. Through this relationship, Belize continues to benefit from training and capacity building of its human resources, as well as programs to promote health education in the community. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Belize, the Republic of Cuba has assisted with 59 health professionals through the Henry Reeve Brigade, who have been working across the country to help manage COVID-19 cases. The partnership and commitment between both countries will further strengthen the relationship for many years to come.////
