Belize Appeals to US for Assistance in Building Migrant Detention Center

With many factors at play when it comes to migration, Prime Minister Briceno has made an appeal to the US Government for assistance in the construction of a detention center for migrants.  According to Briceno, the idea has been one in the making for some time now as it is not ideal to have migrants detained at the Belize Central Prison.

The discussion of a detention center is just one of several that were brought in recent meetings win Washington DC.  In subsequent newscasts, we will have more from our exclusive interview the Prime Minister, including his meeting with cruise lines in Miami.
