Minister of Sustainable Development, Orlando Habet, will assume the presidency for a six-month period during which he will work toward strengthening the regional regime’s goal of environmental cooperation and integration. According to Habet, under the leadership of his ministry strategies and plans will be developed to bolster the Regional negotiating power at international forums.
Jair Urriola Quiróz, SICA’s Executive Secretary, says that the organization has full confidence in Belize’s ability to develop compound regional environmental and climate change policies.
