Despite a remarkable run at the Pan American Billiards Championship, Belize’s players did not get the Cinderella story ending they hoped for. Representing the Belize Billiards Sporting League (BBSL), Nian Rosado and Luis Valdez were among the 120-plus players from 19 countries in Latin America competing in the tournament. They made history by both making it into the round of 32 in the 9-ball division, and Nian Rosado made it to the round of 8 quarter finals. However, he lost to a player from the Dominican Republic. President of the BBSL Earl Clare says that, despite not bringing home a medal, the players represented the country well, and they will return next year.
The team travels back from Tegucigalpa, Honduras today and are expected to arrive late tomorrow evening
