Belize Boys U-15 Football Team’s Valiant Efforts End in Penalty Shootout Heartbreak

Despite valiant efforts, the Belize boys Under 15 football team were knocked out of the CONCACAF U-15 Championship in Curacao. The team faced off against Bermuda on Thursday in the knockout round and lost three to four in penalties. The team closes its appearance at the tournament with a record of two wins, two losses. We note that despite losing to Barbados on Wednesday, the team still topped Group F of League B which allowed them to advance to the knockout round. The Football Federation of Belize took to social media after the match, to congratulate the team on their display of teamwork and sportsmanship. The FFB said quote “This is just the beginning for our young talents. Belizean football has a luminous future with these warriors leading the charge. To our boys, thank you for the memories, the stellar performance, and for representing Belize with pride. The nation stands behind you, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds,” end of quote. The team has been out of the country since July, headed first to Colombia for high-altitude training in preparation for the tournament.
