The Belize Broadcasting Authority (BBA) has put several stations on notice due to their arrears in licensing fees. The stations include the opposition’s Wave Radio that has not paid its fees for the past four years. Also on the list of those in arrears are Reef Radio in San Pedro Town with four years arrears and the Dangriga Cable Vision with three years in arrears. According to a senior official at the BBA, since the notice has been published the stations have an opportunity to propose a payment schedule. In the absence of that, the BBA could move to have the radio frequencies pulled in collaboration with the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Love News understands that the matter could go as far as the crow footing of the station’s assets.
