Belize Celebrates National Teachers’ Day

Belize is observing National Teachers’ Day today. Today marks the end of Teacher Appreciation Week in some parts of the world, and it is being observed by most teachers getting a personal day off or engaging in field trips with their colleagues and peers. In Belize, there is an estimated six thousand teachers across the country in the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Francis Fonseca, has commended teachers via social media, and shared this message with Love News for the educators in Belize.

The Ministry of Education is hosting an event today at Old Belize for teachers as a show of appreciation. The day is observed under the theme, “Dedicated to service, unified by passion, leading through difficult times
