Belize City Council Addresses Concerns, Highlights Abandoned Lots

The Belize City Council held a public meeting last night at the Civic Center.  Despite being poorly attended, Mayor Bernard Wagner forged ahead with a list of concerns from the council.  Amid the presentations was the topic of abandoned lots.  He noted that there are over two thousand abandoned properties in Belize.

According to Mayor Wagner, those who are not maintaining their lots or properties, they are exposing nearby residents to crime, health issues, and a better quality of life.

We will have more from the council’s public meeting in tomorrow’s newscast.
