Belize City Council Assigns Portfolios to Council Members

The Belize City Council has announced the portfolio appointments for its council members. The council says Mayor Bernard Wagner will be responsible for finance, (CITCO PORTFOLIOS VO) budgeting, human resources, staff development & training, public relations, special events, and anti-corruption. Deputy Mayor Allan Pollard Jr. will be responsible for works and infrastructure, urban development, and labour relations. Councillor Kaya Cattouse has portfolios for sanitation & maintenance, women & children, special needs and diverse abilities initiatives, and school programs. Councillor Malcolm Nunez has youth, sports & wellness, and councilor Evan Thompson has responsibility for market management & community engagement. Councillor Eluide Miller was assigned to traffic management, management information systems, e-governance, local economic development, trade & investment, and small & new businesses. Councillor Stephanie Hamilton received the portfolio for tourism & diaspora relations, foreign affairs & sister city relations while Councillor Dorian Usher was assigned cemetery & public health responsibilities. Councillor Javier Castellanos was assigned CEMO/disaster risk management, climate change, zoning & planning, and building unit. Councillor Edmund Kwan received the portfolio municipal court, enforcement, and internal security. Councillor Sherwin Garcia was assigned to parks & playgrounds, and city beautification.
