Belize City Council offers discounts on property taxes

The Belize City Council is continuing to employ measures in an effort to assist residents and business communities during this time. Due to the financial constraints brought on by the onset of COVID-19 in the country, CitCo is offering a relief package to all Property Taxpayers.

The Belize City Council is continuing to employ measures in an effort to assist residents and business communities during this time. Due to the financial constraints brought on by the onset of COVID-19 in the country, CitCo is offering a relief package to all Property Taxpayers. Starting April 1, there will be a 15% discount on all Residential Property Taxes and a 10% discount on all Commercial Property Taxes. This will remain in effect until June 30. In an effort to continue practicing social distancing, all property tax payments can be made online at www.belizecitycouncil.org and property tax statements can be sent to your personal email. The council will also institute a three month write-off of all rental fees for the months of April, May and June for market and park vendors as well as street peddlers.
