There was a house fire in the wee hours of this morning on Neal’s Penn Road in Belize City. According to reports, the wooden and concrete two-story structure had initially caught fire just after three o’clock. But, the small blaze was quickly extinguished by neighbors who used buckets of water. However, an hour later the neighbors discovered that the house was once again on fire. The fire department was then called out to dowse the blaze, unfortunately by the time fire personnel arrived on the scene the house was already completely engulfed in flames. Our newsroom understands that the house was not occupied during the fire and the homeowner, Collin Francis had left the country back in November. The total value of the house and its contents is yet to be determined. Police have since canvased the area but were unable to identify the cause of the fire, their investigations continue.
