Belize City ITVET Graduates Equipped with Trade Skills for National Development

Seventy-two young Belizeans certified in various trade skills are now able to provide their services to the public after graduating from the Belize City Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ITVET). The young men and women successfully completed their respective training programs, in which they received practical and theoretical lessons. The graduates received certification, and according to the institution’s General Manager, Reuel Black, they are now highly qualified and skilled laborers. Black explained that graduates of the ITVET are often unappreciated and highlighted the important role they play in national development.

Several of today’s graduates were able to attend the institution free of charge thanks to Minister of Education Francis Fonseca, who handed out numerous scholarships. Fonseca explained that for him, it is important to provide Belizeans with the opportunity to empower themselves.
