Belize City Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Two Women Granted Bail

A Belize City man is out on bail tonight after being accused of sexually assaulting two women. Derix Rosales appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this morning, charged with two counts of sexual assault as well as one count of common assault. He pleaded not guilty to all three counts and was granted bail in the sum of twelve hundred dollars plus one surety of the same for the sexual assault charges and six hundred dollars for the common assault charge. During his proceedings it was found that he owes the court a hundred dollars for an unpaid fine from a previous conviction, which he had to pay before he could post bail. Rosales is due back in court on January 17, 2024. He stands accused of inappropriately touching the two women on separate occasions between one of whom was a police officer.
