Belize City Man Arrested with Illegal Firearm in Nightclub Parking Lot

A Belize City man was busted over the weekend with an illegal firearm at a nightclub parking lot. Ladyville police officers say they observed twenty-eight-year-old Corey Kendale Usher acting suspiciously and decided to search him. Cops found a point-eight revolver loaded with five live rounds of ammunition in the waist of Usher’s pants and immediately detained him. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, says he was then charged with “kept unlicensed firearm” and “kept unlicensed ammunition”.

Police also found a loaded gun inside the Marion Jones Sporting Complex on Saturday morning. The weapon, a Glock 19 pistol with fifteen live rounds of ammunition, was discovered by officers of the police department’s Special Branch around three-thirty. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, explained that the weapon belonged to a license owner who lost the gun during an event.
