Belize City Man Found Dead After Alleged Home Invasion Attempt

Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a Belize City man early this morning.  59-year-old, Linberk Flowers, was found dead on top of an old refrigerator by his nephew just before three o’clock this morning.  Preliminary investigations say that less than an hour before being stabbed to death, Flowers had gone to his ex-lover’s home on Caesar Ridge Road, and had tried to force his way inside the house.  The woman, Suzette Pavon, rejected Flowers’ attempts and did not allow him inside the house.  A police report says that Flowers began breaking the window louvers but still did not get inside the house.  The police blotter further stated that since Flowers could not get inside, he made sure that the woman could not get out of the house.  He locked the woman inside the house and threatened to return to burn the house down.  Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero says investigators are yet to determine whether Flowers was murdered or killed in an act of self-defense.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding, Eastern Division: “Police responded to reports that someone had been stabbed at Ceaser Ridge Road in Belize City. They proceeded to the area, upon arrival they found Lindberg Flowers, 59 years, with stabwounds. He was taken to the KHMH where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigation revealed that Flowers was in the area when he was approached by someone who inflicted stab wounds. This matter is under investigation. We are still gathering facts as to what transpired and led to this stabbing. Persons have been detained for questioning and further today we’ll know the results of those interviews.”

Reporter: A woman is included ?

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding, Eastern Division: “That is correct. We don’t have all the facts but we suspect it has something to do with a domestic dispute.”

Love News understands that the Police has canvassed Pavon’s residence, and did find several louvers on a window had been broken and portions of the steps were damaged.
