According to 22-year-old Akeem Pitterson a man of dark complexion who he does not recognize, walked up to him just after four o’clock and inflicted a cut wound at the top of his head. Love News spoke with the victim as he was about to make a formal report to the Police.
Akeem Pitterson, Victim: “A random evening just about to eat lunch because I was busy the whole day working and he just came up to us and swung without any warning or anything. He was just like we don’t belong here and he just swung. Before he approached we didn’t know he had a weapon. My reaction at first was flight and to save the other person from getting injured so I ran the other way. I was saved by some civilians along the side, they helped me to get to the hospital.”
Police was alerted, and quick response allowed them to catch up with the culprit who wielded a machete at police officers. The man was subdued with a gunshot to the left leg. The culprit has since been identified as a mentally ill individual, 46-year old Francis Clarence Ramos Junior.
