A Belize City man is recovering after being shot last night. Twenty-eight-year-old Jeffrey Brown was standing in his yard on Rivero Street when someone opened fire on him from a bushy lot behind his yard. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says police are hot on the trail of the perpetrator.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We believe that that was done by some person from the Southside area and it would appear as if they just was drinking that night and decided to shoot up and it ended up injuring the individual. We’re happy that he’s alive and he’s recovering likewise and the police have been active in that area trying to get as much as we can to identify positively the person who is responsible. We think we know the group but the pinpoint the particular individual is what we’re trying to do.”
