Tonight, 22-year-old, Edward Saldano also known as Scrubbie, remains on the run from police after escaping from custody on February 9. While Saldano was detained at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court he had asked to use the restroom and during that break, he managed to escape. Saldano was being held pending a transfer to the Belize Central Prison after he was denied bail for charges of aggravated assault with a firearm. Assistant Superintendent of Police Fitzroy says that investigators believe Saldano is being assisted by family members and sent a reminder that harboring a fugitive is a serious crime.
Yearwood added that Saldano is well known to Police as he has been arrested and arraigned several times for armed robbery.
