Meanwhile, a man was shot in Belize City over the weekend. Sometime after six-forty on Saturday evening, twenty-three-year-old, Lindon Sinclair was at his residence on Logwood Street socializing with two other men. According to police, the men left Sinclair in the yard, and moments later a single gunshot rang out. Later, police found that Sinclair was shot to his foot. Public Relations for the Police Department ASP Fitzroy Yearwood was asked if this incident may break the alleged truce had between the two feuding gangs in that area. This was his response.
ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations Officer, Belize Police Department: “Well what I can tell you that Mr.Sinclair was ferried to KHMH on Saturday with apparent gun shot wound and investigators haven’t gotten much cooperation a to what as the cause of that shooting or who might have been the person behind it. So for me to go and say that it’s a break between their truce because I cannot speak about truce because I have now knowledge about any truce officially being done between any groups. That would be for the Commander of Eastern Division to verify for you.”
