Belize City Man Stabbed During Altercation with Cousin

A Belize City man was stabbed during an altercation a stone’s throw away from his home on Sunday. Around 5 o’clock, 26-year-old Manuel De Jesus Acosta was walking on Hydes Lane when his cousin approached him. Acosta and the man began exchanging words, which led to an alteration and Acosta being stabbed. The Barrack Road resident was transported to the KHMH, where he received surgery for stab wounds. Police are seeking one of Acosta’s relatives; their investigations continue. Notably, Acosta is known to police and has appeared in our newscast for allegedly harming another man and for being stabbed in 2018.
