Belize City Man Walks Free as Court Fails to Secure Murder Conviction

A Belize City man walked free yesterday after the court failed to secure a conviction. Kentroy McKoy was on trial for the murder of Arthur Flowers who was shot dead on December 3, 2018. 1) McKoy was represented by attorney, Oscar Selgado, who made a submission asking the court to take into consideration the fact that the evidence before the court cannot secure a conviction for murder. Love News understands that DPP’s office could not produce its witness, a taxi driver who could not have been located for the past two months.  The matter was heard before Justice Ricardo Sandcroft in the High Court, McKoy had been on remand for the last four years and six months.
