Belize City Resident Granted Bail in Abetment to Robbery Case
Belize City resident, thirty-seven-year-old, Brandon Taylor is out on bail after being charged for abetment to robbery. Taylor was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today, accused of being involved in the robbery of a cashier from Belize Healthcare Partners last week. The prosecution objected to Taylor receiving bail due to the severity of the offense. However, the Magistrate reasoned that since his charge did not involve the use of a firearm, he was granted bail in the sum of three thousand dollars plus one surety of the same, which he met. Taylor is due back in court on August 31. The robbery took place on June 26. Police say that the 38-year-old cashier exited the main building on the compound and headed to the accounts office when a man wearing a shirt on his head and a surgical mask jumped out of a blue car and robbed her of the money she had. Police investigation of the getaway vehicle led them to Taylor. To date, no one has been charged for the robbery.
