Belize City Resident Remanded for Firearms-Related Offenses

A Belize City resident has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison after she was charged with firearms-related offenses. Eighteen-year-old Jadaey Williams appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today, charged with one count of kept prohibited firearm and one count of kept prohibited ammunition in relation to a .45 caliber pistol and three live rounds of .45 ammunition. She pleaded not guilty but due to the nature of the offense, bail was denied and she was remanded until December 29. Williams was one of four people detained in relation to a shooting on Halloween Night when police found the pistol in a trick-or-treat bag during a search. The other three people, two of them minors, were later released.
