A Belize City woman is out on bail tonight after allegedly breaking into another woman’s home and causing almost a thousand dollars’ worth of damage. 31-year-old, Breth-Tesha Copious, an unemployed resident of Raleigh Street, appeared in court this morning to face charges of burglary and damage to property. According to police reports, on Thursday, March 13, Copious allegedly broke into the home of Natasha Miles on Barbara Harris Street. It’s alleged she stole a $30 Stanley fan and caused nearly a thousand dollars in damage. The damage included two mahogany doors valued at $300 each, two door locks, two plycem boards, and an aluminum window, totaling $990. In court, Copious pleaded not guilty to both charges. The Senior Magistrate granted her bail in the amount of $2,000, with one surety of the same amount. According to police, Natasha Miles reported the burglary on Friday, March 14, after discovering the damage upon returning to her home, which was under renovation. An eyewitness reportedly positively identified Copious as the burglar. Police also made the arrest after reviewing video footage that corroborated the eyewitness’s account.
