Belize Coast Guard Rescues Stranded Fishermen at Sea

The Belize Coast Guard (BCG) rescued four fishermen that were stranded at sea. The quick response team was deployed at around five o’clock on Saturday evening after receiving information from the Belize City Control room regarding a distressed group at sea.  After setting out on its search and rescue operation, the Coast Guard located the vessel, some seven miles southeast of Belize City, just east of Stake Bank.  The four men rescued were Denart Skeet, Aison Weir, Curtis Nigel Flowers and Jamal Derrick Ferguson. The men informed the response team that their vessel, named, “Precaution” began to experience mechanical failure while they were on their way back to Belize City.  The men who had journeyed out to an area behind Long Caye are reportedly in good health, and the vessel was towed back to Belize City.
