Belize Delegation Attends Ukraine Summit on Child Safety in Armed Conflicts

A Belize delegation led by Special Envoy, Rossana Briceno, is in Kiev, Ukraine attending the 4th Summit for First Ladies and Gentlemen in Ukraine. The main theme and first panel of the conference looked at child safety in armed conflicts, an issue of critical importance, not only for Ukraine but for the entire world. Love News spoke to Christa Salam, a Belizean youth representative from Jacintoville, Toledo, about her experience in the country during troubling times.

Salam’s experience can be considered one of a kind as she experiences firsthand what the children of the country are left to deal with due to war crime. While speaking to Love News, she further expressed how fortunate Belizeans are to not need to live in fear.

The delegation returns home this weekend.
