Belize Elementary School (BES) and Belize High School (BHS) has announced that effective Wednesday, March 18, they will be shifting from the traditional classroom setting to online learning. The institutions have dubbed this project “Google Classroom” and will carry through with this form of learning up until April 3, 2020. This is a preventative measure being taken by the schools as the arrival of COVID-19 becomes more imminent. Both parents and students have been notified of the online platforms they will be used in this 2 1/2 week period including “CHALK,” which is an integrated platform used for curriculum and lesson planning. Another school testing this method is Saint Catherine’s Academy (SCA) who had a Cyber Day yesterday where first and second form students engaged in online learning. SCA will be carrying out the same exercise for third and fourth form students.
