Belize Establishes Diplomatic Relations with The Gambia and Solomon Islands

Belize has reopened its Belize Consulate in New York adjacent to the Permanent Mission of Belize. The inauguration was done by Foreign Minister Eamon Courtenay, in the company of his Chief Executive Officer, Amalia Mai and Lynn Young, the Ambassador of Belize to the United States of America & Permanent Representative to the Organization at Government of Belize.  The office was closed down when the former Ambassador Herman Longsworth returned home amid the Covid pandemic.

In related news, Belize has established diplomatic ties with The Gambia and the Solomon Islands.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eamon Courtenay, was busy abroad last week and had managed to sign a joint communique, establishing diplomatic relations.  According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “These developments mark important steps in strengthening global partnerships.”
