
Belize Government Announces Decrease in Butane Prices

The Government of Belize has announced another decrease in butane prices. A release from the Supplies Control Unit has indicated that the sixteen cents decrease took effect yesterday in both urban and rural areas. The import wholesale price everywhere is three dollars, fifty-five cents per gallon. The new retail price in the villages is a dollar and eighteen cents per pound or five dollars and fifteen cents per gallon. In the cities and towns, the new retail price is a dollar and twenty cents per pound or five dollars and twenty-five cents per gallon. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise, the decrease is due to a reduction in the acquisition cost of butane and propane
