Belize Hosts 8th Multi-National Security Conference: International Cooperation Emphasized

This week, Belize hosted the 8th Multi-National Security Conference which brought together high-ranking military officials from various countries. The Ministry of National Defence and Border Security hosted officials from, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, and Mexico, in San Ignacio for the conference which was held on November 14 and 15. The event also saw participation from the Belize Coast Guard, Belize Defence Force (BDF), and Joint Intelligence and Operations Centre. Participants shared information and best practices geared towards enhancing regional and international efforts to maintain peace and security. They also discussed the importance of multi-national cooperation in the face of evolving security threats. Speaking at the conference Minister of State in the Ministry of National Defence and Border Security, Oscar Mira said quote “In an interconnected world, the challenges we face are complex and require collaborative solutions. This conference provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen ties with our international partners and reinforce our commitment to a safer and more secure environment,” end of quote.
