Belize Lands Department Completes System Upgrade for Faster Processing and Online Interaction

The Lands Department has finalized is system upgrade and have completed staff training in utilizing the new system.  Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Natural Resources, Paul Thompson, explained that they have gone from using the software Landfolio 2 to Landfolio 7.  The upgrade will eliminate a lot of processing time as it is more user friendly, and more efficient.  In the past months, the ministry had engaged in a training for its staff of the Lands, Survey and Registry units to ensure a smooth transition to the upgrade.  As part of the upgrade, the Lands Department is looking at implementing online payments using credit cards as well as live online interaction with the public.  The upgrade was done at no additional cost to the ministry.
