Belize Livestock Producers Association Warns Members of Ongoing Scam Targeting Farmers

The Belize Livestock Producers Association (BLPA) is warning its members that there is an ongoing scam targeting farmers. The association says that scammers might call or send messages purporting to be from the BLPA and ask for information like WhatsApp verification codes or other personal information. The BLPA stressed that it would never contact farmers unexpectedly to ask for these details, and encouraged its members to help stop the circulation of the scam messages. The association says that any genuine meeting notice or announcement from BLPA will be shared in advance via WhatsApp. Those official messages will clearly display the BLPA logo and, critically, will only come from their single, dedicated WhatsApp number: 672-5275. Farmers are being warned to refrain from providing information of any kind when receiving suspicious requests and from clicking any links from unverified sources.
