The National Gas Company (NGC) has responded to the joint statement made by three butane retailers late last week. NGC’s Daniel Gutierrez explained to Love News that the statement made is absolutely misleading, and poses a disadvantage to the consumers as they are being lied to by the retailers.
Daniel Gutierrez, Spokesperson, National Gas Company: “Thank you for the opportunity to clarify some of the misinformation that has been circulated. First of all let me make it exceedingly clear there are well over a million gallons of liquified petroleum gas at the storage facility at Big Creek. Throughout the entire week there were deliveries being under taken , there are deliveries right now as we speak and there shall continue to be deliveries throughout the week so again let me be clear there are over a million gallons of liquified petroleum gas in country and they are being distributed as we speak and that has not stopped over the last few days nor will it stop over the next few days that are coming. So that is categorically not the case, it is untrue. Where is it coming from you would have to ask them, I can tell you this the retailers well three retailers put that out. There are thirty plus retailers in this country so yes three entities put that out out of thirty plus retailers. We have not heard from any of the Belizean – because these are the former importers the foreign importers in the country- we have not heard anything from the Belizean entities that they are even anywhere close to running out of LPG. So to answer your question I am not exactly sure where it is coming from and whether it is mischief or that it is something you would have to ask them.”
