Belize National Fire Service Firefighters Receive Certification in Emergency Medical Services

The Belize National Fire Service participated in celebration of EMS week after several firefighters received certification in emergency medical services. Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management, Orlando Habet, Minister of State, Ramon Cervantes, and Fire Chief, Colin Gillett, issued certificates to firefighters who passed their EMR certification course. A handful of firefighters were also certified as CPR instructors and were issued their certificates. The firefighters conducted a simulation drill showcasing operations on the scene of a traffic accident.  The San Ignacio Community Hospital, Spanish Lookout Rescue Team, and the Emergency Communication Center (ECC) participated in the event that was held in Belmopan.
