Belize National Teachers Union President Receives Support Amid Qualification Controversy

In recent weeks we have been following issues within the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) where a group of its members has been lobbying for its recently elected president, Ruth Shoman, to prove that she is qualified for the position.  The group has gone quiet, and President Ruth Shoman has been doing business as usual.  One of several government officials who have rendered support to Shoman was Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner.

Shoman took over the presidency of BNTU on July 1, 2023.
