Belize Police Department Spreads Christmas Cheer with Secret Santa Initiative

A handful of officers were at checkpoints in Belize City today stopping passenger buses and everyday citizens, but instead of issuing tickets, the cops were spreading Christmas cheer. The department teamed up with a Good Samaritan and held its annual Secret Santa initiative. The endeavor sought to ease the financial burden of the holidays for fortunate Belizeans, who were gifted either a ham or a hundred-dollar bill. Our newsroom was there and spoke to a few of the unsuspecting citizens about the early Christmas gift.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Juanito Cocom, spoke about the significance of the annual event and how it brings joy to the officers involved.

Secret Santa chose to remain anonymous but stated that he was more than happy to spread some holiday joy.
