Belize’s tourism marketing efforts in the United Kingdom started the New Year with a bang, as three renowned publications prominently featured the country. The January edition of BBC Wildlife has an eight-page feature in Belize, which took a special focus on Belize’s wildlife. Travel writer Sarah McPherson highlighted conservation efforts in Toledo by the Ya’axché Conservation Trust, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Maya Centre Women’s Group. Belize was also featured in an article published on National World’s website titled “I visited a nature-lover’s paradise with unrivalled reefs, rainforests, and temples.” In the article writer Amber Allott shared with readers the beauty of Belize’s barrier reef as well as the country’s rich biodiversity and vibrant culture. The Belize Tourism Board says that the mentions in these publications are crucial for Belize as it positions us favorably in the minds of potential travelers. The BTB told Love News, quote “These features spotlight our commitment to conservation and the beauty of our natural landscapes, highlighting Belize as a premier destination for nature lovers. This positive spotlight not only strengthens our brand but also inspires our stakeholders to amplify their efforts in promoting Belize to the world,” end of quote. Belize was also highlighted in the Association of British Travel Agents’ (ABTA) prestigious annual Destinations to Watch report. ABTA has highlighted Belize as one of ten destinations set to inspire UK travelers in 2025. The annual Destinations to Watch report is designed to help travelers explore new options during the peak holiday planning season. Describing Belize, the report highlights the country’s diverse appeal, stating quote, “This pocket-sized Central American tropical paradise is a nature lover’s delight with rainforests and idyllic beaches as well as historic Mayan sites,” end quote.
