Belize to Receive DNA Testing Machine Confirms Minister of Home Affairs

Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa, has confirmed that Belize will receive a DNA Testing Machine in the near future.  His comments come on the heels of the National Forensic Science Services (NFSS) asking for DNA samples from volunteers.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs: “We are in the process in this upcoming fiscal year in the process of securing a rapid DNA test analysis piece of equipment. It’s gonna be very essential. It’s gonna be a huge game changer when it comes to our NFSS and so that’s something we look forward to but at the same time in terms of extracting DNA samples from different crime scenes that is done by our NFSS and is sent away but like I said in this coming year it is hoped that we will be securing that piece of equipment to do rapid DNA testing as well as training yes.”

The NFSS is seeking to collect a thousand samples.
