Belize Tourism Board concludes tourism sector trainings in collaboration with Florida International University.

The Belize Tourism Board has closed the second cohort of the tourism sector trainings being held in collaboration with Florida International University (FIU). The two-day sessions saw tourism stakeholders attending sessions in the areas of culinary arts as well as hotel and lodging management. The sessions form a part of a larger program that participants can take to earn additional qualifications in their respective fields. Those that complete all the courses can obtain a Diploma in Culinary Arts or a Diploma in Hotel and Lodging Management. Chef Brian Halloran, of Florida International University, told our newsroom what those in the culinary arts program would be learning.

We also spoke with Alec Dalton, Executive Director, Accelerating Leaders who headed up the sessions for the hotel and lodging management about the skills that those participants will be honing.

We’ll be following up with the BTB in a subsequent newscast.
