Belize-Trinidad Trade Talks: Agriculture in Focus

Belize’s agricultural products may soon be on their way to Trinidad and Tobago. Today, the Minister of Agriculture, Jose Mai, met with Trinidad’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss areas of mutual trade. This week, a team from the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association is in the country to explore economic opportunities across sectors in Belize. Minister Mai says today’s discussions were fruitful and welcomed by local farmers. 

Head of the mission, Trinidadian Minister of Trade and Industry, Senator Paula Gopee-Scoon, says that apart from fruits and vegetables, the country is interested in Belize’s seafood products. 

Scoon is scheduled to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Investment.
