Belize U-15 Football Triumphs in CONCACAF Championship: First Win Amidst Rigorous Training
Twenty days of rigorous training in Colombia for the Belize National under 15 boys football team is paying off, with the team’s first win in the CONCACAF U-15 Championship. The team is in Curacao this week for the competition and played against Guadalupe on Monday. Christopher Glenn scored the only goal of the game in the 25th minute to secure the win. Head Coach Dale Pelayo explained that the boys were in Colombia which is a higher altitude than they are used to, to build their stamina. Apart from running drills the team also competed in friendly matches to further push their limits. Pelayo said that he could see the results of the training in the level of stamina the boys displayed during their game against Guadalupe. Here is his take on game one.
Belize is playing in the G league of the tournament. There are forty-one teams playing a total of eighty-eight matches in the competition which ends on Sunday, August 13.
