Belizean Billiards Players Represent in 9-Ball at Pan American Championship

Belize’s billiards players had a stellar day yesterday in the Pan American Billiards Championship. Nian Rosado and Luis Valdez are in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, this week, representing the country through the Belize Billiards Sporting League (BBSL). After a rough start and being eliminated from the 10-ball division, Rosado and Valdez won two matches each in the 9-ball division. Earl Clare, President of the BBSL, said that the victories put the players one win away from making it into the next round of the tournament.

Clare says that the tournament started with over a hundred players and gets increasingly difficult with each round of eliminations.

Valdez had a high stakes match today against Gerson Martinez, who is regarded in the region as a billiards superstar. We’ll have more on the tournament in tomorrow’s news
