Belizean Icon Jennifer Lovell Honored at Funeral for Contributions to Mental Health Awareness

The life of Belizean icon, Jennifer Lovell was honored today at her funeral held at the St. Ignatius R.C Church in Belize City. Lovell contributed her knowledge and services to the Belizean society by breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and creating conversations surrounding mental health related issues. The service celebrated her earlier achievements, most notably as the lead singer of the Mission singers who produced “Mass in Blues”, an album dated back to 1971 under the leadership of Frankie Reneau. The ceremony featured performances from many local singers and musicians. William Neal, the Master of Ceremonies, spoke on how Lovell was truly one of a kind and how her legacy will continue to inspire all those she came in contact with.
