Belizean Man Hailed as Hero in Houston After Rescuing Crash Victims

A Belizean man has been hailed a hero over in Houston, Texas, USA, after he and two others pulled a pair of men from a car following a collision North Freeway.  The incident happened on Saturday night near the Tidwell Road when the car slammed into an 18-wheeler fuel tanker.  While the truck driver got out of the truck and ran a distance for fear of an explosion, Armin Franco rushed to help the men in the car.  Franco and two others were able to rescue the driver and the passenger just in time, as moments later the tanker exploded, knocking the men a distance down the freeway.  Franco told ABC13 News that the impact was painful but he does not regret assisting the victims.  According to the news report, the damaged concrete combined with the necessary hazmat clean-up after fuel poured onto the road, entirely shutdown that section of the freeway and feeder road up until Sunday evening.
