Belizean Students Oriented for Studies in Taiwan with Dignitaries Present

Belizean students preparing to go and study in Taiwan had an orientation session over the weekend. The session for the 2023 Taiwan MOFA and Taiwan ICDF Scholarship recipients was held on Saturday at the Biltmore Plaza. The session was facilitated by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) which arranged for a number of special presenters for the students including Governor General of Belize, Her Excellency Dame Froyla Tzalam, Minister of Foreign Affairs Eamon Courtenay and Minister of Education Francis Fonseca. Among the 66 scholarship recipients, 45 are Taiwan ICDF Scholarship program awardees, and 21 are MOFA Taiwan Scholarship program awardees. Ambassador of Taiwan to Belize, Her Excellency Lily Li-Wen Hsu, explained that the scholarships is one of the many ways Taiwan supports the development of Belize. 

Popular study fields for the recipients include tropical agriculture, public health, mechanical engineering, and computer science and information technology.
