Belizean Troops Return from US Military Exercise, Strengthening Security Cooperation

Several of our military troops are back home after engaging in a military exercise in the United States. The 144 military men and women of the Belize Defence Force and Belize Defence Force, trained for three weeks alongside the US military and international counterparts at Fort Polk, Louisiana.  Belize’s troops were among the total of five thousand five hundred and nine personnel in the exercise.  The exercise aimed to refine their military skill set on and off the field through real-world simulations and how to operate in large-scale combat. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by Acting Security Cooperation Chief for the US Embassy, Major Josiah Rawlings. Major Rawling was also accompanied by Deputy Commander for the Belize Defense Force, Colonel Anthony Velasquez, and Force Sergent Major Wilfred Majano. Rawling also stated how the US and Belize are always looking for ways to strengthen the sharing security cooperation in order to build trust and readiness between the countries.
