Traditionally, once the Lenten Season begins, Christians are known to sacrifice a habit until Easter. Our newsroom took to the streets to see what’s on the list for this year’s Lent.
“I didn’t get any ashes or anything, I didn’t go to get it, I plan to do it sometime soon but if I’m to give up anything I guess I have a little bad ways that are kind of personal but nothing violent nothing risky but definitely go through with that and say my little prayers.”
“I live a God fearing life so if I give up anything good I am giving up everything but should you give up praying and hoping that the government would change and do things differently for the people I hope so.”
“For this Lenten season what I’d like to carry on is my faith because God has been with me through my journey, it’s been a rough journey with my health issues and everything for this Lenten season I just pray that God continues to be with me as I go through my difficulties.”
“I think I will give up cheating. I think I will stay committed to one lady, leave alone those ones in the little short shorts, the little hot girl steppers but that is what I’m dealing with.”
“I’ll just give up for this Lent I’ll give up fake friends, fake family, you know food because I like you a lot so all of that has to go. Stop staying up late at night.”
“I’m giving up all the unhealthy food like the pork meat. Well I don’t really have a lot of stuff to give up because I’m not really a bad person I try to live a God fearing life and so the only thing that I need to give up that I love a lot is the pork meet so I’m gonna eat fish for the Lenten season and I’m going to get my ash later on tonight.”
