Belizeans to Be Required to Have Electronic Travel Authorization for UK Travel

Come January 8, Belizeans traveling to the United Kingdom will have to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization.  It is a new requirement announced earlier today by the British High Commission in Belize.  Love News understands that the UK is streamlining its digital immigration system and enhancing its security measures, making the travel authorization mandatory.  Belizeans can begin applying as early as tomorrow via the gov-dot-uk website.  The authorization is required for those visiting or transiting through the UK.  Exemptions include those with a visa, or permits to live, work or study in the country.  Each authorization is valid for two years and is linked to the applicant’s passport. The iVisa YouTube channel published a video simplifying what this means for non-European countries. 

It is to be noted that a travel authorization does not guarantee entry into the United Kingdom as border officers retain the right to make a final determination.
